Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are displaced with respect to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that they are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.

Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings can only bear axial load in one direction, when it bears the radial load, it will cause additional axial force. As a result of this, it must carry the appropriate reverse load. Therefore, Angular Contact Ball Bearings are generally used in pairs. We often use Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings in machine tool spindle, high-frequency motors, gas turbine, centrifugal separator, a small car's front wheel, differential pinion shaft etc.

Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings with withstanding combined load and torque load, it can limit the axis or shell displace in bi-directional. Basic on it features, it is used in pump, Roots blower, air compressor, various types of transmission, fuel injection pumps, Printing Machinery etc.

Four point contact ball bearings are single row having raceways that enable to accommodate axial loads in both directions. They need lesser axial space and a two part inner ring. This allows large number of balls to be incorporated and carry larger loads. The bearings are separable type. They are designed to accommodate axial loads and arranged as thrust bearings with radial clearance.
